Services

The Think Play Do Group (TPDG) serves its clients through customised consultancy engagements and tailored educational events.  Our consultants have a wealth of experience in auditing innovation strategies and innovation capabilities, and have a proven track record for delivering value in the areas of disruptive innovation, challenge-led innovation and knowledge management for innovation, to name just a few.  Our uniqueness stems from the fact that our approaches are both commercially proven and academically rigorous.

We help both large and small organisations in the private and public sectors to develop their ability to innovate successfully. We achieve  this by working closely with senior executives and taking an holistic view of innovation, rather than focusing on a single aspect of the process.

We help our clients to:

  • assess their current innovation capability,
  • to adjust and develop innovation strategies that are appropriate given their contexts and ambitions,
  • to identify and develop the organisational processes and capabilities needed to foster innovation and deliver on the strategy, and
  • implement solutions to specific innovation-related issues in view of the entire process and the organisation's innovation context.

Our approach to consulting is characterised by:

  • Addressing client-specific issues with client-specific recommendations
  • Developing recommendations that are grounded in reliable data, sound analysis and deep insight
  • Supporting our clients through the analytical stage and through implementation
  • Working closely with our clients to develop a sustainable innovation capability.

Our consulting engagements are delivered at three levels of intensity, to suit our clients' needs:

  1. Rapid, web-based audits/seminars
  2. Facilitated workshop(s)
  3. Full consulting engagement

Our tailored educational events draw from our rich consulting experience and our academic research and teaching, they serve numerous objectives, including:

  • the facilitation of carefully selected groups to engage with a specific aspect of the innovation agenda;
  • helping leaders to develop a deeper, general awareness of innovation and of innovation management principles, across their organisations, especially among internal senior management groups.

For example, we were recently engaged to develop and deliver a one-day innovation 'think tank' for 30 senior European executives within a global manufacturing-based firm.  Our extensive preparation for this event, involving some 20 in-depth interviews, enabled us to tailor the presentation of the principles of innovation in a manner that was perfectly aligned with the the specific context of the organisation and the challenges it faced.
